New Business Risk Management Programs
New business risk management programs are the first to roll out under Growing Forward.
Replacing the Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization program, these programs are based on ideas put forward by producers. The result is a suite of programs that is simple, responsive, predictable, and bankable.
The new programs work together by providing protection for different types of losses:
- AgriInvest producer accounts help cover small margin declines.
- AgriStability covers larger margin declines caused by circumstances such as low prices and rising input costs.
- AgriInsurance offers protection for production losses related to specific crops caused by uncontrollable weather-related perils.
- AgriRecovery is available when producers are hit by natural disasters at a regional level.
- Advance Payments Program provides cash advances to help producers with cash flow.
