2005 CAIS Interim Application now available

CAIS Deadlines

The Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization program integrates stabilization and disaster protection into a single program, helping producers protect their farming operations from both small and large drops in income. The CAIS program is a whole-farm program available to eligible farmers regardless of the commodities they produce.

The CAIS web site outlines how the program works.

The CAIS program is delivered in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador by a federal administration.

In Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island, the CAIS program is delivered provincially.

DEADLINES:

To select your level of protection options and sign-up for 2005 CAIS program year using the Options Notice

May 31, 2005
To file the 2004 Statement of Farming Activities

June 15, 2005 (Individuals)

June 30, 2005 (Corporations)
To complete and submit your 2004 CAIS program Supplementary Forms

September 30, 2005 (NOTE:  extended to November 30, 2005)
To open a CAIS program account at a participating bank, credit union or other financial institution

March 31, 2006
