Voluntary EU Sport Fish Certification Program
These documents are applicable for those individuals or companies who operate sport fishing lodges and camps and who are interested in the voluntary European Union (EU) sport fish certification program.
The intent of this program is to resolve a specific issue associated with sport fishers wanting to take their catch home to the EU from remotely located lodges and camps in British Columbia. This certification program applies only to fresh or frozen sport caught fish destined for export into the EU and where it is intended for personal consumption. Any candidate that has successfully met the established criteria for this program will be provided a number of pre-signed health certificates that EU authorities require for shipments of sport caught fish exceeding 1 kilogram.
For greater clarity the program does not apply to:
- Fish caught by individuals who are not clients of sport fishing lodges;
- Live finfish or crustaceans, echinoderms or shellfish; or
- Fish that has undergone processing into smoked canned or other ready to eat fish products.
Application Package:
- Review Letter

- Application Form

- Protocol Ledge and Declaration

- Client Summary Report Form

- Inspection Checklist - Operation

- Inspection Checklist - Construction

- EU Compliance Manual
