Livestock Waste Tissue Initiative: The Livestock Waste Tissue Initiative envisions all renderers and livestock tissue generators - be they producers, slaughterhouse operators or meat processors - being able to dispose of or use specific risk material and other slaughter plant waste tissue in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

Meat Transition Assistance Program is a $4 million funding program announced by the Provincial government in April 2006 to assist with construction and equipment costs associated with upgrading or building slaughter facilities to the new provincial Meat Inspection Regulation.

Poultry Industry Biosecurity / Emergency Response:
Funding is available for projects that address the following key activity areas, as identified in the Poultry Industry Biosecurity / Emergency Response strategic plan:- Implement enhanced biosecurity protocols
- Develop an emergency response management plan that links to the provincial FADES plan
- Develop an effective and comprehensive risk management program
- Establish strategic plan management structure
- The Investment Agriculture Foundation of B.C. invests federal and provincial funds in innovative projects for the benefit of British Columbia's agriculture and agri-foods industry. A number of funding programs are accessible. IAF investments assist the industry to innovate, seize new opportunities, and deal with emerging issues and changing market conditions. Funding is not available for farm/business start-up or expansion.
