Regional Operations



Regional Operations is the first contact for most people to the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands.
 
Regional Operations encompasses British Columbia and delivers through four regions: North, Central, South and Coast. These regional areas feature a wide diversity of climates and landscapes.

Regional Operations focuses on the challenges and opportunities for the agri-food sector in these regions and their communities.

Regional Operations is responsible for:

1. Providing specialized knowledge and expertise in agrology to foster resource development and environmental sustainability in the agri-food sector;

2. Engaging in the management and resolution of conflicts between agriculture and other interests in land, air and water;

3. Providing advice and leadership in issues management, policy development and planning;

4. Fostering agri-food economic development opportunities, including those of First Nations;

5. Leading the regional delivery of environmental programs for the agri-food sector;

6. Communicating and enhancing the understanding of agri-food interests within the provincial government;

7. Encouraging and enabling the agri-food industry to be self-reliant in accessing and developing programs, information and services.
