Strengthening Farming

Farm Practices Protection / Planning for Agriculture

Strengthening Farming is an initiative of the BC Ministry of Agriculture that is jointly implemented with the Agricultural Land Commission.

 

The program has two    broad components: Farm Practices Protection Planning for Agriculture

 

 

The Strengthening Farming program promotes strong working relationships between local and provincial governments and the farming community.  The program supports fair resolution of land use conflicts and effective community planning for a sustainable agriculture and aquaculture industry in British Columbia.

 

Key Legislation

The legislative context for the program rests in the Farm Practices Protection (Right to Farm) Act, the Agricultural Land Commission Act and portions of the Local Government Act and the Land Title Act.
